Musical Theatre

Get ready to sing, dance, and act in these exciting, high-energy musical theatre classes! Students will explore the fundamentals of acting, vocal performance, and choreography while building confidence on and off the stage. Through fun group exercises, scene work, and learning songs from popular musicals, kids will develop teamwork, stage presence, and creativity.

Broadway Stars Jr. (10 week session)

  • Ages: 3-5

  • Class Length: 45 minutes

  • Description: This is a creative music, drama and movement class for young children with a focus on Broadway music and movement. This class is INCREDIBLY fun. Emphasis is placed on singing, imaginary play, storytelling, creative movement and basic dance skills. This class helps students build confidence through the performing arts, strengthening their communication skills as both performers and human beings.

  • More Information:

    • Students will play instruments, sing, dance, and use other creative tools such as parachutes to explore creative movement

    • Parents are allowed to stay and watch this class

Broadway Stars Kids

  • Ages: 6-9

  • Class Length: 60 minutes

  • Description: This class will provide the building blocks of the musical theatre style by teaching techniques in singing, dancing and acting.

  • More information:

    • Students will learn movement and dance combinations to popular Broadway musicals

    • Students will learn songs from popular movies and Broadway musicals

    • There will be at least one performance for parents at the end of the semester, demonstrating learned songs and dances

Musical Theatre

  • Ages: 10-13 & 14-18

  • Class Length: 60 minutes

  • Description: These classes focus on building a strong musical theatre foundation - working on acting, singing, and broadway-style movement.

  • More information:

    • Class for ages 10-13 is focused on the building blocks of musical theatre. Students will prepare solos and learn a group number with movement-based choreography from popular musicals throughout the semester, with a performance for parents at semester-end.

    • Class for ages 14-18 is a deeper dive into the study of the musical theatre art form. Students will work on material from musicals in different eras each month - starting in the golden age of musical theatre, working their way to contemporary musical theatre by semester-end.

Audition Prep

  • Ages: 10-18

  • Class Length: 60 minutes

  • Description: Auditioning is an art unto its itself! This class takes your work to the next level by giving you an audience and opportunity to work the acting moments of your vocal pieces in front of a supportive group of peers

  • More information:

    • Students can bring audition materials for upcoming auditions they’re preparing for

    • Students will work on building their “audition book”, ensuring they have materials ready for any genre of musical audition

Broadway Dance

  • Ages: 6-13 and 14-18

  • Class Length: 60 minutes

  • Description: Students will learn dynamic choreography inspired by hit musicals, while building strong dance technique, rhythm, and stage presence. This class focuses on popular Broadway dance styles, from jazz to theatrical movement.

  • More information:

    • Students will learn a new dance combination from a new show every month, culminating in a miniature “showcase” for parents at the end of the semester

    • With the exception of the “Advanced Broadway Dance” class, these classes are tailored towards performers with minimal dance training. The goal is to help students feel equipped and prepared to nail the dance portion of an audition.
