Meet Katie
Hi, I'm Katie!
I am a Kansas City native, board certified music therapist, and Mom to 3 year old, Frankie, and 7 month old, Gianna! I specialize in leading group music classes and teaching voice, piano, and ukulele lessons to students of all ages and abilities. I also have a unique passion for preparing students for upcoming performances and auditions.
From a very early age, I knew that serving students and their families through music was one of my life's purposes. My personal, musical, and clinical experiences have provided me with a unique set of skills to meet the individualized needs of my students, while supporting them in their overall development as musicians. My main goal is to empower my students to be their most confident, musical, selves when they walk out of the studio each week.
I completed my undergraduate and masters degrees in music at the University of Kansas and I have been teaching private music lessons for 14 years. I have also worked with a variety of people and diagnoses as a board-certified music therapist over the past 10 years. My musical background includes many years of participating in and teaching musical theatre, show choir, choral ensembles, worship leading, popular music and songwriting, music recording, and lots of local performances in the Kansas City area. I have experience with a variety of populations including: early childhood, individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, medical pediatrics, traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation, and hospice.
If you'd like more information on my background, teaching philosophy, or areas of expertises (I genuinely believe there are no "bad" questions!) please call or email at your convenience.
Meet Anthony
Hi, I’m Anthony!
I’m also a Kanas City native and the proud husband of Katie and father of Frankie and Gianna. I work in finance by day and work as a professional actor and singer on the weekends. Similar to Katie, I’ve had a love for singing and performing from a young age and am passionate about the confidence and life skills the performing arts instill in young people.
I’m a proud graduate of Texas Christian University (TCU) and have degrees in Theatre and Accounting. I started working as a professional actor in Dallas and continued my acting career in New York City post-college. I was fortunate to travel the country with the Broadway National Tour of the Tony-Award winning musical “Fun Home” and have been seen around the country in leading roles in shows like “Newsies”, “Jersey Boys”. “South Pacific”, and “Catch Me If You Can.” Outside of theatre, I also sing in a vocal a cappella quartet - “Midtown.” We won the 2023 International Quartet Championship as part of the Barbershop Harmony Society and have performed around the world.
Don’t hesitate to reach out if you questions about my background or experience, I love sharing and we want to make sure all of our students and their families get to know us!
